Do I need a credit card?
No ZoopCalendar offers a free forever tier that does not require a credit card.
How can it be free? What's the catch?
ZoopCalendar offers boosts when a user submits an event. Users can pay a small fee to have an event featured on any nearby calendar. So occassionaly your calendar may feature an event that is slightly outside your normal radius, but close enough that it might appear to your visitors. In general most organiztions want to support nearby local events so it works out quite well.
Is ZoopCalendar a WordPress plugin?
It is a website widget/embed that can be used on WordPress and many other platforms. Most sites can add it with a code block or template snippet.
Does ZoopCalendar help me get more traffic?
ZoopCalendar is designed to improve your onsite SEO by adding a fresh flow of rich structured data. This helps search engines indentify and display your pages in search results.
Where do I manage the actual calendar and events?
Calendar and event management happens on PlanetZoop.com. ZoopCalendar.com provides docs, examples, and setup guidance for the widget on your website.
Can I show only my organization’s events?
Yes. Calendars can be configured to show only your calendar, broader local Zoop events, or wider sources depending on your goals.
Do I need a developer?
Not usually. Many site admins can install the widget themselves if they can edit page content and copy & paste HTML snippets. If you can add a photo or a paragraph to your website, you should be able to add ZoopCalendar no problem.
Will the calendar update automatically?
Yes, the embedded widget pulls current data from the sources you slect, so your website updates as events are added or changed.
Can I style the widget to match my site?
The widget has built-in display options and inherits the colors, fonts and layout of your website. The widget has unique CSS classes so a web developer can override any section. Custom style guide is coming soon!
Does ZoopCalendar use AI?
The creators of ZoopCalendar are artists and musicians and we do not use generative AI to create art. We use AI when traditional Optical Character Recognition (OCR) can't read the stylized text on a flyer. We also use AI to summarize a place or performer if we can't find a decent summary on their official site. (eg: "Motörhead was an influential English rock band formed in 1975, renowned for pioneering the fusion of heavy metal and punk" )
